Diva Drama

If you watched the Grammy last week, you would have heard Beyonce called Tina Turner the Queen. You would have also heard on the entertainment news that Aretha Franklin... the so called Queen of Soul was extremely upset by Beyonce's statement. So what is the big deal with Aretha? Don't get me wrong. I think that she is a great singer and that many other artists look at her as part of their own inspiration for being in the music industry. But what's with all this self righteousness she gives herself. When was her last hit?

What has she done that is so extraordinary that she feels so offended by another artist being given any type recognition of Queen? How many singers today are called a Diva? Should people like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Diana Ross be in an uproar by this? Aretha needs to relax. Tina Turner has been in the music industry for the same length of time as she has and has made many accomplishments throughout her career. Yet not the same amount of acknowledgement.

Perhaps Aretha feels offended because no one really notices her lately and in many ways considered the great of yesterday and not today. It's time to retire Ms Queen of Soul. And give some R.E.S.P.E.C.T to others!!

Haha we really are on the same page, literally. I like Aretha, too, and I think she is talented, but she's so insecure and petty that it makes her unlikable, and she is tarnishing her own image by being so self-absorbed. The very fact that she would release a statement is tacky. I'm glad Beyonce's dad responded back. Someone needs to call Aretha on her arrogance.
