Open Toe Season

We all know that most of us like to wear our sandals and especially the flip flops in the summer. It's trendy, keeps our feet cool in the hot heat, easy to put on and take off and there are so many different styles to choose from.

But let's get serious, some of us, and you know who you are, really need to think about getting a pedicure. No one really wants to see overgrown toe nails, dry flaky skin or a very hairy foot. Just like you try to keep care of the rest of your body, it's just as important to take care of your feet.

I recently had my feet done and asked the Pedicurist to give me her professional opinion on male pedicure with respect to how often it should be done and why. She indicated that we only really need to get it done once to twice for the season. Since most guys don't wear heels (this is a gay blog, so some do) and our shoes are generally much more comfortable and less abrasive on our foot, if we kept our feet lotion, nails cut, and we should be able to maintain a good looking foot over the summer.

Getting the pedicure is a very relaxing experience. Generally included in the cost of the pedicure is a foot massage. This is a great feature especially if you are a runner or playing some sport that keeps you on your feet for a long period of time. It helps relieve tension in your feet, which ultimately will help reduce general stress.

Besides the cosmetic aspect taking care of your feet according to some non-traditional medicine, is said to have a great impact to your health.
